A few reminders and helpful hints:
If your child participates in sports, make sure they have had a recent physical and that the proper forms have been turned into the school.
Before buying back-to-school clothing, please use the following general standards to ensure that your child is in compliance with our dress code. Halter-tops and bare mid-riff shirts are not acceptable. Tank tops will only be acceptable if the straps are more than one inch wide and are tight fitting to the underarm. In addition, the length of shorts and skirts must be at or below the fingertips with the student’s arms straight down to his or her sides. Undergarments must be completely covered.
Our PTO does a wonderful job supporting our middle school. Parents interested in getting involved with the PTO may contact.
It is very important to keep emergency information current. Enclosed you will find a student information sheet which must be updated and returned to the middle school office on or before the first day of school.
All pertinent legal documents relating to your child need to be on file at the office. Please make sure you provide us with updated copies throughout the school year.
If your child takes any medication (including Tylenol) throughout the school day, you need to fill out a new form each year for our files in the office. Forms and/or medications from previous years cannot be used.
Be prepared to promote, reinforce, check and hold your child accountable for using the student planner that the school provides. This planner is a critical part to helping your child remain organized and prepared.
Studies suggest that parental involvement is the single greatest factor in influencing a child’s academic success. Being an active and involved part of your child’s home, school and social life is very important in the middle years.
Please do not pick up or drop off your child(ren) at the 4-5 wing doors as this creates traffic flow problems and puts children in harms way for traffic. Feel free to wait for them at the front of the building. If you would like to come inside to pick up your child, feel free to wait in the vestibule area outside the principal’s or superintendent’s offices.
