ELA



Writing:




The final High Frequency list will be handed out tomorrow. The list is comprised of 10-15 words for students to study—no assignments will be given. Quiz is scheduled for next week.


We will wrap up our practice for Persuasive writing unit this week. Next week, students will be given a final writing prompt ("cold prompt") and complete a persuasive essay.



I will administer the 3rd spelling inventory tomorrow.





Reading:




We are wrapping up Fighting Ground on Tuesday of next week.



Students should be reading at least 25 pages during the day. If they do not meet the minimum requirement at school, they must continue the reading at home. Pages should be recorded on the yellow reading log as well as on the "Status of the Class" sheet in the red reading folder. Once they have finished a chapter book, they will need to take an AR test.


May book report—Fantasy (due no later than May 29, 2015 **date change from original schedule**)




SOCIAL STUDIES



This week we will study the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.



MATH



We are working on unit 6 this week. We will be covering concepts that are necessary for 6th grade.




SCIENCE



I am still in need of homes for our classroom frogs . If you would like to adopt these fun little hoppers please send in a note. If you are adopting hermit crabs they will be coming home this week, so please set up your habitats.




We will be continuing to talk about animal habitats this week and behaviors of animals.
